Xính Lounge calls itself Hanoi's Super Lounge. It is at 64 Bach Dang Street, Chuong Duong Do Ward, Hoan Kiem District, right at the foot of Chuong Duong Bridge beside the Red River dyke. It is only a few minutes by car from the Old Quarter or Hoan Kiem Lake, but because it sits outside the old-town core, the approach is wider and far less cramped.

People look for it in different ways: some type xinh lounge without accents, some Xính Lounge Hanoi, others remember the number 64 printed on the ceiling banners. All of them point to the same address on Bach Dang. The frontage is easy to spot: a row of Roman-style columns washed in warm amber light and a striped retro XÍNHLOUNGE sign running along the street.

What sets Xính apart from other Hanoi lounges is personality. Its identity draws on Vietnamese retro style: a striped letter X in a rounded frame, a lemon-yellow star on top, a flag-red background. Inside, the whole room is bathed in a single shade of red, and the themed nights carry a strong East Asian flavour.

Walk in and you see straight away why people remember Xính by its colour. The walls are clad in panels of round discs cut into red, LED matrix lighting covers the ceiling and pillars, and a bank of mirrors turns the room into a kaleidoscope. In video shot on the floor, an LED banner loops around a pillar repeating XÍNH LOUNGE 64, SUPER LOUNGE, HANOI, sometimes switching to violet and pink with the lights.

The DJ booth sits at the far end of the floor, its front printed with SUPER LOUNGE and a large LED screen behind it, next to a small stage for the dance crew. Around the room are decorative palm trees outlined in light, glass-block features and two styles of sofa, moss green and red. Staff in orange dungarees are easy to spot in the crowd, while the security team in black keeps to the walkways.

The mood starts at the door: a red carpet, velvet ropes, two warrior statues standing among the columns, and an X-in-a-frame light hanging over the entrance. The LED board on the left of the frontage runs a repeating X pattern, true to the venue's logo.

Xính is open 20:00 to 03:00 every day. The music follows the clock: from 20:00 until about 22:00 it is Deep House and R&B, mellow enough to talk over; as the night goes on the floor moves into EDM and Vinahouse. DJs and the dance crew perform live every night.

What brings guests back most are the East Asian themed nights: áo dài, qipao, kimono, paper fans and prize games right in the middle of the floor. The venue's videos also show nights when the whole DJ crew wears red football shirts, and guest singers perform in front of the booth while the LED screen shows the artist.

If you want to chat while the music plays, come right at opening. If you want to dance, come later once the floor fills up. The themed-night schedule changes week to week, so follow the venue's Facebook or Instagram to know in advance.

Seating at Xính is split into four areas. The Bar Counter sits right at the centre of the floor near the DJ, ideal for solo guests or pairs. Standard Tables suit groups of two to four and still face the main stage. VIP Sofas take groups of six to ten, with the best view across the whole red room. The Private Area is a discreet corner for birthdays, company parties and occasions that need privacy.

Choosing is simple: small parties who want to be in the thick of it take the Bar Counter, small groups a Standard Table, larger groups a VIP Sofa, and private parties should ask about the Private Area. The booking form includes a Help me choose option if you have not decided.

Because the DJ booth is at the far end with the dance stage right beside it, tables near that end are at the heart of the action when the performances and prize games start. Groups who would rather talk at an easier pace can ask for a place in the sofa area, which still takes in the whole stage.

There is no fee to book at Xính. On the booking page, enter your name, phone number, date, time, group size and preferred area, plus a note if it is a birthday, a company party or you would like the table decorated. The team gets back to you within about 5 minutes to confirm and suggest the right area.

There is parking right around 64 Bach Dang, and staff will explain where when they confirm your booking. Because the venue is on the riverside rather than inside the Old Quarter, you do not have to detour around the weekend walking streets near Hoan Kiem Lake, and taxis or ride-hailing cars can drop you close to the door.

Xính admits guests aged 18 and over only, so bring photo ID. The dress code is smart casual or above: trousers or a skirt, a neat top and closed shoes; avoid beachwear, flip-flops and sports shorts.

Cards are accepted, there is WiFi, and VAT invoices are available, which helps company groups that need paperwork. The menu is not yet published as photos on the website; staff advise at the table based on your group size, and you can ask ahead when you call to book.

One: doors open at 20:00 and the music is gentle early on, so that is the easiest time to pick a spot and talk. Two: Friday, Saturday and themed nights fill up early, so reserve the day before. Three: if it is a birthday, say so in the booking notes so the venue can prepare the greeting board and decorate the table. Four: bring ID and dress smart, with closed shoes. Five: check the Facebook page early in the week to see which nights have an áo dài, qipao or prize-game theme, then dress to match the mood.

One more tip: the frontage, with its XÍNHLOUNGE sign and amber-lit columns, makes a great backdrop, so if you are coming as a group, arrive a few minutes early for a photo together before stepping into the red room.

Xính's regulars are young Hanoians, groups of friends, birthday parties and company celebrations.
